Congratulations to the new Executive Board and thank you to the old! We are excited to see the future of the RSO under new leadership. Also, thank you to everyone who came out to vote and help set the course for Golden Apple ISU.
Our November meeting will take place on Thursday, November 20th at 7pm in DeGarmo Hall room 208. This meeting will feature fun activities, new announcements, and nominations for the Executive Board elections that will take place at our December 4th meeting. This will also be our last standard meeting for the Fall 2014 semester. We will discuss final events before Winter Break such as our annual Jingles and Jammies Community Service at the Children’s Discovery Museum and our Holiday Dinner, and those in attendance may help make decisions in planning these events.
If you are interested in running for a position on the Executive Board, please review the descriptions in our Constitution so that you are familiar with the responsibilities. Please make arrangements to have someone nominate you if you are unable to attend the November meeting. Gapples may choose to run for one or more position, but can only win one. Nominees must be present at the December 4th meeting and prepared to make a speech and answer questions from the voters.
We look forward to seeing you all at our November meeting!
Thank you to everyone who ran and voted! The RSO has grown into something great over the years, and now we have a great year ahead full of wonderful ideas and plans. It’s great to see so many Gapples getting their voice heard.
Congratulations to the new Executive Board:
President: Tim Sullivan
Vice President: Jordan Oliva
Secretary: Dana Laren
Treasurer: Nick Ulferts
Social Chair: Katie Oberman
Community Service Chair: Alysa White (Spring); Lydia Wilson (Fall)
Technology Chair: Jenni Seger
Each December, Golden Apple ISU holds elections for a new Executive Board. Any member of GAISU may run for a position no matter what year of school they are in.
The Executive Board positions are:
- Vice President
- Social Chair
- Community Service Chair
- Technology Chair
Each position has their own committee and duties to perform. The term lasts from the start of Spring semester 2014 to the end of Fall semester 2014.
Nominations will be held at the meeting on November 21st at 7:30 pm. In order to run for a position, you must be nominated, and that nomination must be seconded. If you are unable to attend this nomination meeting, you may have someone nominate you. You will, however, need to be present at elections in order to run.
This year, elections will take place at the final meeting of the semester on December 5th at 7:30 pm. We will begin by electing the President and move down the list above. Each candidate will give a one minute speech followed by a brief Q&A session. Those who are not elected may choose to run for another category which has not yet been voted upon. Finally, after each candidate for the current position has spoken, a vote will take place. This means that all GAISU members should attend in order to cast their vote for the new leaders of this RSO.
If you have any questions, contact President Kayley Pyne or Vice President Timothy Sullivan. Good luck, nominees!
Our fourth Golden Apple ISU meeting of the school year will be Thursday, November 22nd in DeGarmo Hall, room 204 at 7:30pm. All Gapples at ISU are welcome and encouraged to attend! We will be discussing the various news and events for our RSO, including Socials, Community Service, and various Committee news. The end of the semester is coming fast, but we have some wonderful annual events of the holiday type that you won’t want to miss! This is also a very important meeting to attend because it is our last regular meeting for the semester, since our December meeting will be Executive Board Elections! This means that the November meeting will also be the date for Executive Board nominations. So, consider the various Exec positions that GAISU has to offer, bring your Gapple friends at ISU to get them involved, and remember to sign in to earn GA Points!
